In an effort to Get the Mercury Out! of homes in Utah, the Utah Department of Environmental Quality in cooperation with local Health Departments collects thermometers that contain Mercury and exchanges them for Mercury-free thermometers for free.
To get a free, mercury-free digital thermometer, bring your old thermometer to one of the local health departments listed below:
